I play the keyboard in our small music group. When there is a pause in the practice, guitarists like to break into a rock and roll riff, and so I wrote a song to go with the riff.

I play guitar in a worship band (Rock and Roll)

I play guitar in a worship band
And when we've practised all the songs that we've planned
I get an urge that I can't control
I gotta play a bit of Rock and Roll

- Instrumental -

I play guitar in a worship band
And when we've practised all the worship we've planned
It still feels like there's an empty hole
Until I've praised the Lord for Rock and Roll

So I thank God for the rhythm
And I thank him for the chords
And I thank him for the instruments
'Cos the music is the Lord's

It's the sound that lifts my spirit
And it satisfies my soul
And when I get to heaven
They'll be playing that Rock and Roll.
